Have you ever been in a funk where you’ve struggled to get up each day, you’re going through the motions, or can’t even get dressed? If so, I want you to know I’ve been there too. I have suffered from depression and anxiety for years, last year I hit rock bottom. I had a falling out with my middle son, and it devastated me! I was unable to reconcile the situation and also recognize I couldn’t continue on the way I was. I knew something had to give. I could only control myself and my reaction to the situation. I made a decision to do the work and intentionally focus on things to make me a better version of myself.
Fast forward to today, I now want to help others who are in the same place as I was last October. If you have been struggling, I want to come along side you and teach you what I’ve learned. Together we can help you become a better version of yourself. The first step to fixing a problem is recognizing there’s a problem. Do you sense you need a change? I needed a change, and I am here to help you in this pivotal moment.
What can you expect from my course, ‘Get out of da FuNk!’?
Week 1 What is causing my stress and depression? The first step to recovery is admitting there’s a problem and to recognize what is causing stress in your life. Do you know the symptoms of mental illness? Depression comes in many different forms, you could be emotional, physically sick, or feeling blue. Week 1 is all about learning the signs and recognize them.
Week 2 How do I get out of this funk? You may be thinking where do I begin? Baby steps my friend, baby steps! Now we have learned the signs we can look at actionable steps to work on getting you out of this dark time.
Week 3 We need a support system! We need support, you cannot do this alone. Do you have a special someone who is always there for you? Family or friend? Yes, awesome! No, I am here for you. Together we can work each of these steps and achieve your goals. We have to be humble and utilize the tools to move forward in this journey!
Week 4 Continuing and the aftermath! Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6) A daily routine and walk in this new light will help you to continue to change and grow! Does week 4 mean you are cured? Unfortunately stress and depression will stay with us for the rest of our lives. This journey is a lifelong adventure and it’s a daily challenge. This is not the end but the beginning to a new outlook on life.
